Ascizi Expands Into Shabby Chic & Home Accessories January 2011

Ascizi started four years ago, after noticing that there was a gap in the market for a store selling affordable designer straw baskets. They started off by doing some research, around the world to find ethical manufacturers that would provide high quality items, at affordable prices, and knowing that they were adhering to all the correct guidelines in staff management. Having done that we managed to find some really great manufacturers, that supplied some really wonderful products for our customers.

They started off with a mixture of colourful baskets for both beach and shopping, and straw handbags, hats, sandals, Indian cotton kaftan's, tunics, and also offered our customers some fair trade bags and accessories.

After a while of trading online , Ascizi has noticed a trend in what our customers are buying. Most of the British public tend to prefer the natural baskets, the traditional french shopping baskets - panniers, (bread baskets) market baskets, and country baskets, more so than the bright colourful ones you can get in all the high street stores.

There is a difference however as all Ascizi baskets are handmade from local ethical artisans companies around the world, (and the ones in the high street stores are mass produced in sweat shops in not so nice places, this is why they can sell them so cheap.)

Ascizi has decided to move with the times, and are now going to focus more of the natural straw traditional country baskets and beach baskets, new England striped fabric beach bags and handbags, in natural colours and blue and whites giving that nautical feel.

There new range of beautiful shabby distressed furniture in antique white or natural linen colours, and also accessories such as mirrors, picture frames, and clocks, door mats. We will continue to offer our fabulous handmade Indian cotton sarongs which were featured in last June's "Daily Mail", new stock of these will be arriving next month. And we are still offering our gorgeous hand embroidered Indian kaftan's in all colours and sizes.
